FIAT has now offered fresh details on how it will capitalize on its alliance with Chrysler Group LLC, saying it will broaden its product portfolio while investing more than €8 billion ($11.39 billion), largely to boost car production in Italy by 50% over the next two years.
While many seem to be under the impression that FIAT is primarily interested in selling FIATs, Alfa-Romeos, Lancias to American consumers, in fact the Italian auto maker will introduce over the next few years a slew of new FIAT and Lancia models based on Chrysler car, sport-utility vehicle and crossover platforms for the European market...
