FIAT Unveils Grand Plan for Italy


FIAT
has now offered fresh details on how it will capitalize on its alliance with Chrysler Group LLC, saying it will broaden its product portfolio while investing more than €8 billion ($11.39 billion), largely to boost car production in Italy by 50% over the next two years.

While many seem to be under the impression that FIAT is primarily interested in selling FIATs, Alfa-Romeos, Lancias to American consumers, in fact the Italian auto maker will introduce over the next few years a slew of new FIAT and Lancia models based on Chrysler car, sport-utility vehicle and crossover platforms for the European market...
